There are lots of ways to make a fun, personal and attractive Advent Calendar. Here are our suggestions for making an excellent Christmas Season Calendar from wallpaper left-overs. Small wallpaper bags filled with little presents that can be opened every day right up to Christmas Eve. The great thing about these bags is that you can reuse them next Christmas.
Step 1. Begin by deciding how big you want the bags to be, which depends on what you plan on putting inside them. (Link to templates below)
Step 2. Then choose the wallpaper you want to use. (We have used our Soho, Johanna, Sten, Gaston, Heidi & Hannes wallpapers)
Step 3. Now cut out the parts using the downloadable templates.
Step 4. When you have cut out all the parts (24 of them), begin by folding down the long side that will form the top of the bag. Fold this down about 2.5 cm, using a ruler to make sure that you get a sharp and straight line. Fasten this edge down using the double-sided tape.
Step 5: The next step is to fold down the other long side that will form the bottom of the bag. The fold will be about 4.5 cm. Again, use a ruler to make sure that you get a sharp and straight line.
Step 6: Now attach the double-sided tape to the back of the paper on one short side. Our tape is around 2.5 cm wide.
Step 7: Using your ruler, measure off and mark with your pencil where the sides of the bags will be: 5 cm (one short side), then 7 cm (one long side), 5 cm (next short side) and, finally, 7 cm (the last long side).
Step 8: Now take the ruler and make sharp folds where you have measured that the sides/corners of the bag will be.
Step 9: Now place the short side that does not have tape against the other short side that is taped, and fasten them together.
Step 10: You should now have a rectangular tube.
Step 11: Next, bend in the short sides carefully, so that they look good.
The next step, bending the bottom, is a bit tricky, but the more carefully you do it, the better the final result.
