How to Create a Colourful Summer Garland with Wallpaper
Summer is here! Full of sunlight, fresh air, and hopefully some social gatherings. So, do you want to add more summer flavor to your home décor? If you are getting ready for a small summer party outside, you’ll need some adorable DIY decorations, and we think that garlands are one of the best and easiest ways to add something festive and unique.
You will need
- Wallpaper samples or leftovers
- A pair of scissors
- A stapler
- A string
- Adhesive
- A needle
Step by Step Guide
Step 1: Cut out a rectangle of any size.
Step 2: Fold the piece of wallpaper into equal-sized parts in an alternating, zig-zag pattern, as shown in the picture below.
Step 3: Staple it in half.
Step 4: Glue it together on one side to become a semicircle and wait for it to dry.
Step 5: Like this! Now repeat steps 1-4 to make another semi-circle, preferably with another pattern of wallpaper to mix it up.
Step 6: Assemble the garland by gluing and threading the semicircles together. Thread the string onto a needle and flip the semi-circle over, showing the backside, and make a hole with the needle preferably in the two glued tabs, so it is not visible through the front.
Step 7: Repeat the process shown in the previous step until you have successfully attached all of the semi-circles you have.
Step 8: Thread a string through the holes on the back.
