How to Make a Floral Wreath with Wallpaper
Midsummer may be the most typically Swedish tradition, and we thought it would be nice to post a tutorial making a flower wreath with wallpaper. Most Swedes are celebrating by eating pickled herring, drinking schnapps and dancing around the midsummer pole. A Swedish Midsummer wreath in wallpaper is not only beautiful in the hair; it´s also a great decoration on a Midsummer table.
You will need
- Wallpaper samples or leftovers
- A pair of scissors
- A pair of pliers
- Glue gun
- Optional diadem
- Steel wire
Step by Step Guide
Step 1: Cut 8-10 pieces of 40 cm long steel wire pieces. The number of steel wires depends on how tight the wreath should be.
Step 2: Fold the steel wire in the middle and wrap it around the diadem with about 4 cm distance. Use a pair of pliers to press to the steel wire. The wire must be firmly fixed to the diadem for a good result.
If using a pair of pliers is not enough, you can attach the thread with glue from the glue gun. The steel wire should then stand up straight.
Step 3: Cut optional flowers and leaves from your wallpaper residue.
Step 4: Glue the wallpaper flowers on the steel wires with the glue gun. Spread out your wallpaper flowers and leaves along with the desired pattern.
