With Pattern Stories, we want to embrace a specific wallpaper design and tell the story behind the pattern. We want to show the craftsmanship that leads to the finished wallpaper. We call it Swedish Wallpaper Art.
A Royal Honorary Assignment
The year 2010, in conjunction with Princess Victoria and Prince Daniels' wedding, Sandberg got the immense honor of designing a wallpaper to celebrate the bride and groom. An honorary assignment for us.
The result came to be Liljekonvalj (Lily of the Valley), a flower that refers to Daniel's childhood in Gästrikland, where the province flower is the Lily of the Valley.
It's a beloved flower, just like the prince and princess, often used to decorate weddings.

Award-Winning Design
The year after designing the wallpaper, the design received the very prestigious award "Wallpaper of The Year" by Swedish Elle Decoration. Our designer Karolina looks back at the reward with humbleness and pride.
"The Lily of the Valley has always been a favorite. I remember the school graduations when all children would pick a bouquet of flowers to put on the school desk. It was pure happiness if the Lily of the Valley had begun to bloom. There is no doubt the pattern Liljekonvalj is close to my heart."
